„Turn the light on. Before I fall. To the end. I wanna stop. See. (…) Now set me free. I am on fire.“
When the lyrics to RUN finally coalesced, vocalist Dominique says, “I had tears in my eyes! The whole process of making this album had so many ups and downs for us. And with this song we could finally let it go.” The piece naturally became a valve, a crucible in which all of the latent emotions that precipitated in the studio during the entire production session could finally find a release. Hence, it’s one of the most emotionally searing, concentrated pieces on the entire album. Yet, from compositional standpoint, it’s also the most spartan, restrained – stripped down to its bones. A reduction of sorts. Like an orchestra holding back so that the listener can almost touch the mounting force hidden right beneath the surface.
lyrics
Burns me down
Down to the ground
it’s lost in the fog
Got my style
So so. There, I have to crawl
I’m in a fight, that’s based on a fevered call
It’s based on a fevered call
down to the wire
time and time again
Turn the light on
Before I fall
To the end
I wanna stop
See, it cracks me up
It strives for the light
And wants to shine
Oh now set me free
I am on fire
I wanna hide, I wanna hide
I wanna flow, wanna flow, straight in line
I wanna fall, I wanna dive, in the fog
I wanna rise, I wanna rise, coming up for
Abstract mind at the great celebration
I wanna hide, I wanna hide, it’s all, can’t stand up
Just one thing that counts
Affected by obsessing frustration
My hands, useless now
Some things never stop
Turn the lights on...
Abstract mind at the great celebration
Turn the light on
Before I fall
To the end
I wanna stop
See, it cracks me up
It strives for the light
And wants to shine
Oh, now set me free
I am on fire

Binaural Mix by David Muther
Eutropic are an analog synth-obsessed avant pop trio. Their music explores human emotion through the prism of a high-
resolution gradient. It draws from cold and new wave, several iterations of techno and classic 70s electronica. It’s functional, yet introspective – full of nuance, detailed shadings, curious overlaps and idiosyncratic contradictions....more
